Honest Review: The Ordinary Skincare for Sensitive and Dry Skin by Green Contours

Updated: Mar 12

The skincare game is changing. More people are putting their skincare first before makeup. After a decade of makeup being at the forefront of the beauty industry, I am glad to see skincare finally taking over

As more consumers become more conscious about the ingredients in their skincare products thanks to the leading skincare influencers and specialists, brands are producing better options for different skin types.

There is one cruelty-free brand who we have to give our credits to and that is The Ordinary. The brand that became a must-have for everyone. I can’t think of anyone who doesn’t have at least one product from The Ordinary in their skincare routine.

Cleanser

The Squalane Cleanser can be used in the day and night as a primary cleanser or part of a double cleansing routine. This cleanser contains soothing ingredients such as plant-based squalane and glycerin which gently cleanse the skin without stripping away natural oils. It also removes makeup, so it would make for a great first cleanse as part of a double cleansing routine.

Treatments – Serums and Oils

It is essential for people with sensitive skin to have very basic skincare routines with very little active ingredients. The serums and oil I use are considered to be the best for sensitive and dry skin by The Ordinary. I only applied these serums at night as my skin tends to get very dry while I sleep

The first serum that I used is the Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 Serum. I was most excited to try this serum because of the rave it got. I had followers, friends and relatives all begging me to try this serum because they loved it. After my first week of testing this serum I could clearly see why it is so hyped.

Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 Serum is a moisturising water-based serum suitable for dry skin. It mimics the skins reproduction of moisture which is normally lower in dry skin. After a week my skin already felt hydrated, softer and looked healthy.
